ICSI ( INTRACYTOPLASMIC SPERM INJECTION ) Treatment

What is ICSI : Intracytoplasmic sperm injection is a micro manipulation technique used in the process of fertilization (IVF) . It involves injecting a single sperm into the center of a mature oocyte under a microscope (i.e. injecting sperms through the egg’s shell so that sperm does not need to penetrate the shell in order to fertilize the egg). ICSI is also known as Micromanipulation and involves sophisticated and advanced techniques and equipments. This technique has changed the approach towards male infertility and has given hopes to male patient who has low sperm or Nil sperm count. In this procedure one sperm is injected directly into each mature egg under a specialized inverted microscope with microinjection pipette.
